What's next for .NET?
GOTO conferences manages a successful YouTube channel with over 300k subscribers. In addition to recordings of various sessions from their conferences, you can also find the #GOTOunscripted series: conversations and interviews where various topics are discussed in an informal manner.
Our own Hannes Lowette recently participated in several of these conversations. He spoke with Martin Thwaites about the history and future of .NET, with Kevlin Henney and Dylan Beattie about 'Code, Guitars & Tech', and had the opportunity to also interview some thought leaders in the software industry: Simon Brown, Dave Farley, Michele Hansen, Ian Cartwright, and Rob Horn. Some of these videos are still in post-production, but below you can find the videos that are already available.
.NET has undergone tremendous development since its inception. Martin Thwaites, development advocate for Honeycomb, and Hannes Lowette, head of learning & development at Axxes, have certainly enjoyed every step of this evolution. In the following talk, they go through several milestones of this .NET period together, while also providing practical insights regarding web performance, running .NET at scale, and implementing observability.

Are there similarities between code and music? "Getting good at coding and playing music takes a lot of practice" — that's one thing for sure, but what else?
Writing music, building guitars, and writing software have more similarities than you might think. Kevlin Henney, a freelance consultant, engages in a conversation with Dylan Beattie, creator of the Rockstar programming language, and Hannes Lowette, head of learning & development at Axxes. They discuss the craftsmanship and creativity expected of them. Throughout the interview, they showcase a guitar made by Hannes himself, emphasize the importance of making decisions at the right moment, and highlight how there is no one-size-fits-all approach to problem-solving in any of these domains, but rather a personalized and evolving approach.

Due to the constant evolution of software development, we are constantly confronted with new challenges. Simon Brown, Dave Farley, and Hannes Lowette discuss some of the latest topics in software architecture such as DevOps and how to deal with complexity. Additionally, they refer to concepts that have been causing unrest for years and are still not being correctly applied, such as bounded context and continuous delivery.
