How our entire organization contributes to the training of new talent

Last week, 35 talented consultants completed our Axxes Academy. For the twelfth time, a group of graduates received the very best preparation for a job in our company - and everyone at Axxes contributes to this.

Each year, many new consultants join Axxes. While we could immediately assign them to client projects from day one, we take a radically different approach.

Students who have completed their IT education undergo an intensive six-week program, receiving eight hours of lessons every day. These lessons are not taught by professors, but by their future colleagues. The recent traineeship was divided into different groups, each focusing on a specific knowledge domain: .NET, Java, DevOps, QA, frontend, and general infrastructure. Additionally, there were general sessions covering topics such as communication.

A win-win

In total, 75 consultants are involved in the training and mentoring of our new hires. It starts in January, when trainees from previous years, along with our HR team, attend job fairs together.

The lessons themselves are a combination of theory and practice, taught by consultants who volunteer for the task. Those who are interested can teach for two or three days and are given time to thoroughly prepare their sessions. Each edition, I am pleasantly surprised by the motivation of our instructors. They take pride in contributing and enjoy the challenge of teaching. Clearly conveying the technical aspects they deal with daily is no easy task! It forces our consultants to think deeply about the topics they know best.

Thus, our traineeship not only serves as a means to attract talent but also helps retain talent, thanks to its integrated approach and the recognition our consultants receive. This is evident in our nominations for Best Workplace and the dozens of new hires despite the war for talent. Setting up our traineeship and other initiatives within Axxes requires a lot of time and energy, but it's an absolute win-win for everyone.

Best of luck to the 35 new consultants, and thank you to everyone who coached them over the past few weeks!
