Axxes for the 6th time in a row a Great Place to Work

At the Great Place to Work Awards show 2021 - which, given the COVID-19 measures, was also broadcast as a live stream this year - Axxes was named the 3rd best workplace in Belgium!

Since 2016, at Axxes we have been able to call ourselves a Great Place to Work year after year and we are quite proud of that. Throughout those 6 years, we have continued to focus on a policy where respect for employees and clients are key. And that is reflected in beautiful recognitions:

Context – What is a Great Place to Work® and a Best Workplace?

Just a recap: We spend an average of 1576 hours at work. The way we work together and have fun with our colleagues determines how we feel in the workplace. Great Place to Work® showed that good workplaces are where people trust their management, take pride in their job and, above all, have fun.

Every year, the Great Place to Work® Institute Belgium, in collaboration with Vlerick Business School searches for the 'Best Workplaces'. Their research focuses on two areas. First, the Trust Index© survey (or employee survey) that examines how employees perceive trust, pride and collegiality in their company. Furthermore, the Culture Audit© evaluates the organizations' employer policies. Great Place to Work measures 5 universal values: Credibility, respect, honesty, pride and fellowship. Companies that score well on this score obtain the Great Place to Work® label. The 10 companies with the highest scores earn the certificate of a Best Workplace.

We don't have to tell you that the Corona pandemic is affecting business strategies. This is no different at Axxes. More than ever, our values - growth, quality and 'feel good' - were under pressure. Trust, however, never disappeared. Trust is the thread that connects these values. Trust in our people and their trust in Axxes as an employer. But also trust of our clients in Axxes as a solid partner for their business. During the Covid-19 crisis, we saw, and still feel, how trust makes us resilient to deal with today's unique and unpredictable market conditions. Even in times of crisis, we continue to act on these same values. Growth and quality translate into leadership that we show in these times. Additionally, our inclusive corona 'feel good' programs maintain and strengthen the bond between all Axxes'ers.

At Axxes, we have structured ourselves to best suit these changing circumstances. With a focus on initiatives to assist each individual employee as best as possible.

  • Commitment to internal (digital) communication

In times of uncertainty, communication with colleagues is crucial. Informing employees correctly and quickly at all times brings clarity and reassurance. Consequently, we have taken various initiatives to stay connected. Through weekly video messages from our Managing Director, stand ups in the different domains or digital chats at the coffee machine. By experimenting with new digital tools and digital activities, we continue to ensure enough communication with our co-workers.

  • Extra attention to mental health

Lockdown, social distancing, home quarantine, social bubbles, staycation...The loss of structure and daily routine, being restricted in your freedom and having to relinquish control.... Undeniably, the measures against Covid-19 are weighing on our mental health. As an employer, we feel it is our duty to dwell on this, which is why we provide sessions with a mental coach around the concept of mental well-being and how we can arm ourselves. Thanks to a direct, individual follow-up, we try to keep our finger on the pulse. Now more than ever.

  • Continue to grow business

Despite the challenging economic climate, we continue to invest in people and projects. For instance, this year we have chosen to prepare school leavers in our annual software development traineeship. Knowledge sharing, training and space to develop oneself continues to be an unaffected value. We also continue to invest in our projects and client portfolio to keep offering our consultants challenging opportunities.


LOVID-19!

These special circumstances make us realize that investing in a clear corporate culture, committed to care and evolution for every employee, is crucial. From such a culture comes trust, and trust moves mountains, especially in these times.
